The Monica Lewinsky Chocolate Bar


Yes, there really was such a thing. In Tblisi of all places.

And a Bill Clinton one, along with a whole host of other “Hollywood celebrity” chocolate bars. Dynasty had been the most popular but was surpassed by Monica!


It was sixteen years ago now and I was working in the oil industry at the time, on subsea construction ships. We were just off the Georgian Coast in the Black Sea and crew change was through Tblisi, which is where we saw the Monica Lewinsky chocolate bars.


They didn’t taste that great to tell the truth, but the point is I still remember them. Sixteen years on, and numerous chocolate bars consumed since then, and I still remember that one chocolate bar from way back then.


Because it stood out. It was different.


And that is why I am telling you this story. You see, if you want to do well with your business you need to stand out from the crowd.

You need people to remember you, to tell others about your business, and you are not going to do that if your business is just one more amongst the many. And the thing is you don’t need to be the best, just different.
