Tell us a little bit about yourself in a few sentences…
I am 42, mom of one kind, talented and funny daughter (in college), former nurse & paramedic and lifelong fitness/movement/sports fiend.
When did you start your business and what was your inspiration for doing so?
2013, I couldn’t find a fitness studio I liked and I was distressed at how eco-ignorant the fitness industry is so I built my own place.

I go to circus school for fun.
What is your happy song… you know, the one that you can’t help but smile to when you hear it?
Hakuna Matata – Lion King.
Best piece of advice you have been given and by whom?
Don’t give up what your want most for what you want now. – I can’t remember who said this or if I just read it somewhere.
What is your ideal way to spend a Sunday?
Sleep in, coffee and crossword in bed, then outside to play with family in the park.
If you were planning the ultimate picnic, what would be in your hamper and where would you go?
Fresh baguette, yummy cheese, salad (fresh tomatoes, cukes, peppers & onions), peaches, cherries, grapes, dark chocolate with almonds and a bottle of wine.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Raising a kind, hardworking, compassionate human being.
If you could have one superpower what would it be?
What has been your biggest challenge in business?
Hiring good staff and marketing strategies that work.
What advice would you give to someone starting out in business?
Start small – don’t try to do too many things at once – focus on one product or service and add more as you master the first.
What is your favourite childhood memory?
Camping with my grade 6 class.
What was the last trip / vacation you took?
Virgin Gorda in March with my friend Sarah & her family.

Generate is the first eco-friendly fitness studio which supports members whole health. We have weekly organic food deliveries, monthly social events and a full range of classes for all levels taught in small groups to ensure proper guidance and supervision.
